here's what i've been working on for my graphic standards manual! i'm pretty happy with the direction it's going in. i'm working on the copy and etc. still, but if anyone has suggestions for layout, color choice, or anything like that, please let me know.
one thing i'm not really sure about is the other larks. i applied patterns to them through illustrator because i felt like the main lark should stand out, but i'm also feeling that the patterns are too disparate or dull. feedback on those would be appreciated as well. these are still in the development phase, so i'm also considering making my own patterns for each if nothing else works.
also, how the heck do you upload a multiple page pdf (or any pdf, for that matter) into a blogger blogpost?!

Good start, although I will agree that the standard patterns you are applying to the mini-larks are not as successful as your original lark and the plaid pink/white pattern. Definitely create your own set of patterns rather than relying on those found in Illustrator or online. You want them to fit seamlessly within your Lark identity, after all!
ReplyDeleteAlso, there apparently is no way to embed or link a .pdf in Blogger. Sorry for the confusion, but glad to see you found your way around this problem on your own ;)
ReplyDeleteI like the playful quality you incorporated into your manual. I think one thing to pay attention to is spacing. You have a some text that goes straight to the edges of an object or page. If you want tight spacing that's cool, but going straight to the edges makes me... claustrophobic. Also, the spacing of elements on the last page feels a bit unbalanced. I keep looking at the bottom left corner and feeling like something's missing. Keep working in this playful style and I think it will unify well with your identity!
ReplyDeletehaha, sorry for the claustrophobia, joel! thanks for the input about spacing--i'm definitely open to changing that. i also agree about the layout of the last page, and will continue to work on it. thanks again!
